Day 10 -- Another Update from Team

Yesterday must been computer day. Have two updates to post:

From Jeremy:

Greetings from the Uganda Team!
We're still here, and God is showing us his greatness every day. We
have had so much happen in the last week that it would be impossible
to include it all in this e-mail. We have grown to know and love the
Amani children, staff, volunteers, and surrounding community. We're
learning their names and stories, and when someone says "I met so-and-
so and they said such-and-such!", we get jealous that each of us
didn't get that experience or hear that story.
We're wrapping up our last couple of days here at the baby cottage,
and we're not looking forward to leaving the children behind. But we
are anticipating what God has for us in Kampala with the Rwothumios.
We are also missing our families and friends. I pray that God is
revealing Himself to you as He has been to us. Keep your eyes open,
He's everywhere.

See you soon,
Jeremy and the Uganda Team

PS In case some of you are unaware, we are scheduled to be back in
Kalamazoo at 2:49pm on Monday.

From Laurel:

I am having a wonderful time in Jinja, Uganda. My time with the 'babies' has been incredible--although I sometimes feel quite selfish holding and loving the kids----and most afternoons I end up with a sleeping baby in my arms!! Heaven!! It has been great to play and love on them, and also really wonderful developing relationships with the Ugandan women who work at the Baby Cottage. They have been so welcoming and warm.
Because our initial housing arrangement changed, we have ended up staying at Calvary Church--which has led to an incredible opportunity to join in their ministry--in church services, Bible Studies, and visiting local villages. And again, the Lord has developed friendships in very quick fashion as we have partnered together in sharing God's love.
We have one more full day at the Baby Cottage and then on Friday morning will say our goodbyes to our 'babies'----keep that time in your prayers as i am sure I will be an emotional wreck that morning!!
We will then be spending the weekend in Kampala with a church where the pastors are missionaries from our church in Richland, Michigan. We actually are going to be passing out the Christmas Child packages to the kids there in Kampala!! That will be wild!

I have loved my experience here ---I have fallen in love with the babies---wish I could take a few right home with me---and love Africa!!

One of the exciting adventures of this past week was that we went White Water Rafting on our day 'off'!! In the NILE!!!
No crocodiles in that section! We actually got off the rafts and went swimming for a bit! Can you believe it? Swimming in the NILE!!
We went down a few rapids, the most being a Level 3---it was a gorgeous day!
We even saw monkeys in the trees! Red tailed monkeys! Very exciting!
